Sergio Mcfly has announced the release of a Windows version of iPhoDroid which can install Android on your iPhone 3G with one click.
“YES! It’s today. Gotta tell you Im so thankful for everyone to be so patient and understandable for this Release. The delay was necessary because I made everything for do not mess up your computer and despite Microsoft Windows7 64bit is very tough to accept an un-certificated DLL, I found a very good safe way to run the App without installation and no hassles. All on-the-fly and in one single click, 1SHOT Yeah!! and now it runs on fine over XP and Vista (i386 and x64). I hope all of you help me to keep this Project alive; I never ever thought that this could be this BIG as it is. Thanks everyone and God bless!”
We will post instructions on how to do this shortly.
As seen on this page, Amazon’s playing it smart by combining their pristine service with Apple’s new line of iPod Touches, nanos and shuffles. What that means for you is free shipping, the guarantee of a shiny new Apple product, and a couple of dollars saved. Although, keep in mind that the shipping date is currently at “1 to 3 weeks,” so it’s no shorter than picking it up at your local Apple store.
Yesterday morning, Steve Jobs introduced 4th-generation iPod touch with the same iPhone 4 features, 6th-generation iPod nano with multi-touch screen, and buttons back to 2nd-generation iPod shuffle. Three of them are available for preorders and you will be shipped by a week from today.
Check out Apple’s latest iPod Touch commercial, “All kinds of fun.” The song is “Come Home” by Chappo and, as usual, captures catchy fanfare that Apple is known for. As you can see, the commercial emphasizes the multiple ways you can use the new Touch – from HD video recording, gaming, and FaceTime. So, in reality, it’s a well produced, demographically charged, phone-less iPhone 4. But that’s not a bad thing for users who will find this device more applicable to their lifestyle.
The iPod nano commercial ad focuses on the new features boasted by the 6th generation iPod nano, such as the ability to perform swipe and rotate gestures on the multi-touch screen, and clipping it anywhere you want using the rear clip found on the back of the device.
All in all, these are great additions to the iPod family and we can’t wait to see the numbers and fandom surrounding the new iterations. After seeing these ads and what Apple has shown us in these past 2 days, do the latest Apple goodies interest you enough to update your arsenal? Let us know in the comments!
If you are looking for a way to display your love for the Google vs. Apple war, have a look at these Chris Bishop t-shirts sent in by a faithful reader. They’re available in male or female sized t-shirts as well as a poster. To be honest, if I saw someone with this shirt on I would play chivalrous and wish them luck saying, “May the best machine win.”
According to a report in the early morning, Apple is expected to double the length of free song samples within the iTunes Store, from 30 seconds to 60 seconds this week. The report says that Steve Jobs may announce that iTunes users will be able to sample a minute of a song before purchasing instead of half a minute.
The report claims that Apple’s media event on September 1st will cover a lot of changes to iTunes by saying “a large part” of the event detailing how the new iTunes improves the user experience. But Apple is not expected to introduce a cloud-based iTunes service according to the report.
We may consider the launching of iPod Touch 4G, iWatch, iTV, iLife major update, iOS 4.1 software update, iTunes cloud and wireless synchronization, TV Show rentals, and who knows what Steve Jobs is hiding!
Ever wanted to check a text or obsessively scan your Facebook notifications while syncing? Well if you absolutely must, than opt for Synchronicity, an up-and-coming application that makes your iPhone or iPod Touch usable during syncing.
Instead of being stuck at the lock screen while you transfer new content, Synchronicity allows you to unlock, run apps, and make calls. The only limitation is music playback, which is disabled during syncing to prevent data corruption.
Synchronicity works on any device with firmware 4.0 or 4.0.1 and can be purchased from the Cydia Store for $2.

Apple is involved in yet another lawsuit. I know. Shocker, isn’t it?
According to the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen is suing Apple (and eleven companies overall) regarding patent infringements. Allen says the likes of Apple and Google are out of line and blatantly violated his patents involving online recommendation algorithms.
The technology in question was supposedly developed by Allen some ten years ago in a $100 million lab/technology incubator (that no longer exists) called Silicon Valley laboratory Interval Research Corp. It turns out that Allen still holds a number of patents that resulted from the venture. And those are precisely the patents (e-commerce and Internet search-related) that other companies are now allegedly infringing upon.
“The lab worked on numerous projects, with goals to create technology to use in Mr. Allen’s ventures in telecom,” the WSJ noted. “In later days it also focused on developing technology to license to others. Over the course of a decade, Interval was issued 300 patents. It successfully marketed some of its patent portfolio, including cellular voice processing technology and motion-detection technology used in games that allows a computer to ‘see’ commands. It also created a ‘smart’ toy called ‘Red Beard’s Pirate Quest’ and later sold the technology behind it to Lego Group.”
Along with Apple and Google, other companies named in the suit include AOL, eBay, FaceBook, Netflix, Office Depot, OfficeMax, Staples, Yahoo and YouTube. Microsoft itself, however, is not involved. Lets sit back and watch as we see him try to sue eleven different companies.
